HyperDocs

-Hyper Documents-

Hyper Docs are at their core a much more interactive version of documents and slide shows that allow incorporation of links and other web tools for both the user and their creator to allow for a more interactive and full experience when utilizing the time they have with their audience. Hyper Docs tools include but are not limited to Google Classroom Loom Khan academy and many many others with the goal of giving the students room for reflection and simple quick and ease of access to whichever tools are being displayed. Something very interesting about Hyper docs is that they utilize Universal Design for Learning (UDL) which allows for students to display alternate ways of learning from one another.

One thing I have come to appreciate about hyper documents is how they put the tools for learning directly into the hands of the learners ie the students so that in a way the students are the ones running their own lesson in a way and the teacher provides the materials for them and the students are entrusted to learn from there.

Reflection

Upon looking back at all that I have learned about Hyper Docs I have to say I'm very surprised that I was not more aware of how useful they can be in terms of both a student and an educator. For the Student a hyperdoc puts all the tools of learning in their hands and allows the student to blaze their own trail and make their own journey in whichever way they might like to learn best which is much more fitting for some students over a traditional style of education. And for educators, it changes the teachers role from a lecturer into a guide a person who's role is to manage and guide the students journey through they path through their educational journey.

As a future leader I can see myself utilizing hyper documents without a doubt to augment a lesson plan again the main benefit of it is putting the tools of education within the hands of the students themselves.
