Collaboration in Education

 Collaboration in Education

Working with a classroom

How does a teacher begin to teach in a classroom? What is the best way to go about bringing a subject to light? When thinking of a classroom many would think of a teacher working with their students independently, or that is to say operating independently from other educators. This may have been the norm not long ago but in our current day, collaboration is the key to understanding and learning more. Not only about the subject at hand but even for the students learning more about how they learn, creativity blooms as a new idea is introduced and even assists educators in learning from other teachers to see how they were best able to impart lessons to their students.

Learning by working with others-

An old proverb states that by teaching others we learn more about ourselves, this could not be more true in a classroom by getting students to engage with one another is an invaluable tool to educators. For myself I know for a fact I learn more about what I didn't know when I try teaching things to my friends or students as they raise questions I hadn't even considered when I was first working on the topic. Learning by teaching others goes a long way in learning more about whatever subject it is you the student are trying to get a more comprehensive understanding over. Collaboration is the key to understanding.

Connecting with Other Educators-

For the Teachers themselves there are more ways to connect with other teachers than ever before, with sites such as X, Facebook and others, there has never before been better ways to compare lesson plans and ways to bring about a more comprehensive lesson plan. Using Social media to collaborate and connect with other professionals is a great way to have lesson plans reviewed by peers in your same field and make a better lesson plan. A more complete lesson plan.

Conclusion-

Working together learning together students and teachers both is the best possible way to ensure that everyones time is utilized best, by encouraging students to break out into small teams in a class or compare notes after a lesson is perhaps one of the most potent ways to make a lesson really stick in their minds. And for educators reaching out to other professionals has never been easier as it is now. Collaborating with others is one of the most essential parts of gleaning a complete understanding.
