I visited the virtual field trip about the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. This virtual experience allowed me to explore different exhibits, including fossils, ocean life, gems, and ancient civilizations. I especially enjoyed the Hall of Fossils because it showed interactive displays of dinosaurs and explained how Earth has changed over millions of years. I think virtual field trips like this are valuable because they give students opportunities to experience museums and educational sites even if they cannot travel there in person.
One thing I learned from the tour was how museums use interactive technology to help visitors understand science and history in more engaging ways. I could see this being very useful in a future classroom because students can explore topics independently and visually, which can increase participation and curiosity.
